Fundación Sakya is pleased to announce that His Holiness Sakya Trizin will be bestowing Hevajra empowerments and instructions to all those who are interested, with a special focus on Lamdre1 students who wish to do the Hevajra Approximation retreat.
This teaching which dates back to the time of the Indian saint, Mahasiddha Virupa, has been passed down in a pure, unbroken lineage to the current throneholder, His Holiness Sakya Trizin. We are extremely fortunate to receive this special blessings from His Holiness.
While the programme was originally intended for students who have received Lamdre, through the Foundation's request, His Holiness has compassionately consented to bestow the Hevajra Cause and Path Empowerment as part of this programme to old and new students who are committed to the practice of Hevajra2 so that this precious opportunity to receive the pith instruction on the Hevajra practice could be available to them as well.
Please note, however, that only students who have received the full Lamdre will be able to perform the traditional Hevajra Approximation retreat. This retreat is planned to start immediately after the teachings. His Holiness will give instructions to the retreatants and place them into the retreat, so that the warmth of his blessings is carried through unbroken into the retreat, all samayas are renewed, which is important for the conduct of the retreat, as well as reparation of any breakage of samaya in our daily practice.
For students who are unable to complete the full Hevajra retreat, a shorter One Month Lamdre Training is available to all students who have received the Hevajra Cause and Path Empowerment.
We strongly encourage everybody to attend this empowerment and retreat teaching cycle, the first Hevajra retreat focussed programme to be bestowed to the public in the west, a rare opportunity not to be missed.
"I am happy to hear that His Holiness is going to give Hevajra instructions to retreatants. Hevajra is very important to the Sakyapa tradition. If you are a true Sakyapa practitioner, you should do the Hevajra retreat. This is a wonderful and precious opportunity. I would encourage all my students to attend."
